With 4 Guinness World Records, a professional playing career across 4 continents, and 40+ years of coaching around the world, Ferdie Adoboe has earned the reputation of being one of the finest teachers of the modern game.
Born and raised in Ghana, West Africa, Ferdie developed his soccer skills in his home country before moving to the United States in 1981. He settled with his family in Amherst, Massachusetts, attending Amherst Regional High School, and later graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1987 with a degree in Geography and a minor in Geology.
Ferdie began his coaching journey in 1984, teaching at camps across the United States. He worked with renowned coaches including Kalekeni Banda (UMass, Wisconsin), Joe Morrone (UConn), and Peter Gooding (Amherst College and NSCAA President). His collegiate coaching career includes serving as Head Soccer Coach at Mt. Holyoke College (1994–1996), a skills development coach for Massachusetts ODP, and Head Boys Soccer Coach at South Hadley High School.
Over four decades, Ferdie has remained committed to youth soccer development, shaping countless players through his distinctive training philosophy.
In 1993, Ferdie developed his first soccer curriculum and founded Ferdie’s Soccer Magic Academy. His program evolved into the unique One-Cone and Two-Cone Skills Development System—designed to help players master individual ball-handling outside regular team practice. Today, his methods influence coaching across U.S. Youth Soccer and around the world.
“Ferdie’s passion and knowledge of the game are unmatched. His training transforms players by building confidence, control, and elite-level skill."
